Luton Airport appoints new CEO
Alberto Martin has been appointed CEO of London Luton Airport (LLA) with immediate effect.
He was previously the airport’s planning and investment director.
He replaces Nick Barton who has taken the decision to step down from his role as CEO of LLA to take up a ‘new professional challenge’ in the New Year.
A statement from the airport said Martin is a ‘highly experienced and well-regarded airport leader’, who delivered LLA’s recently completed £160 million terminal transformation project and overseen the preparation for Luton Borough Council’s £225m Direct Air-Rail Transit.
Before joining the airport, he held a number of executive roles across Europe, including 10 years as managing director of Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura airports.
Martin said: "Building on the strong demand from passengers and the success of our recent terminal transformation, I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead the team in establishing LLA as the airport of choice for accessible, easy and enjoyable air travel."
