Luxury in numbers at Queenstown
Ten operators have launched Queenstown Prestige – a luxury tourism alliance.
Foundation members are Sofitel, Eichardt’s, Touch of Spice, Blanket Bay, Matakauri Lodge, Queenstown Opal Centre, Over The Top Helicopters, Mount Edward Winery and transport company BLACK.
Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa’s director of sales & marketing, Tanya Dennis, says the hotel is working with other prestige operators to harness the potential of the collective.
“It’s an exceptional group of operators,†she said. “We are focused on showcasing the diverse yet complementary resources that Queenstown has at its disposal which cater to the luxury sector.
“Our aim as a collective is to better define the true meaning of luxury for travellers to Queenstown,†she said.
Launched in 2005 as Queenstown’s original five-star hotel, Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa was relaunched in late 2010 following a NZ$2 million upgrade and extension.
