An Oasis of Pampering

The spa business is one of the fastest growing industries in Thailand and the trend of pampering oneself does not seem to falter, in fact its increasing popularity has resulted in a high number of day spas opening up all over the country. This big business continues to gain strength in the market, generating economic growth in the spa, health, tourism and hospitality industries.

Thai spas are renown throughout the world for their exceptional standards and services, however; among the thousands of spa choices, there are only a selected few that lead the way in terms of innovation, quality and service standards.

The award winning Oasis Spa, located in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, is one such leader. Oasis focuses on their customers from start to finish and are dedicated to continually improving their services and products they offer.

Oasis Spa President, Pakin Ployphicha, discusses how Oasis Spa began. “It started when I was a medical sales representative; I worked 365 days and saw patients in the hospital each day. It made me realise that the more we take good care of ourselves, the fewer trips we will make to the hospital and the spa business is all about taking care of yourself inside and out – that’s how we started,” he said.

Ployphicha goes on to describes how Oasis first opened in Chiang Mai and how it has rapidly developed. “Chiang Mai is a place with local knowledge on herbs and massage and I was lucky to get a piece of land there with an old house and a garden. The harmony and atmosphere of the place made me think of the word “oasis” – it was like an oasis in Chiang Mai’s downtown.

With a perfect combination of service and creative marketing, there is no single day that we don’t have a customer. We opened the second spa near Wat Prasing within a year and today we have opened in five different locations within four years. There are many factors that are strengthening Oasis’ position in the spa market. Our services begin in the reception and we make sure our customers immediately feel comfortable as soon as they arrive. Our extensive training programme ensures new therapists learn our high standards of service and our quality spa programmes have call centre support to improve efficiency and give us customer feedback.”

Oasis recently received the Prime Minister Award for Most Recognised Service Provider by Foreign Patrons from General Surayud Chulanont,The Prime Minister. Oasis Spa, Bangkok64 Sukhumvit Soi 31, Bangkok, ThailandTel +66 (0) 2262 2122. For further information visit www.bangkok.oasis.com
