Luxury line cuts deposit payments
Cruise fare deposits and cancellation periods are being reduced by luxury line Crystal Cruises as it seeks to maintain a value price proposition.
The initiatives come in addition to a price guarantee.
The cruise deposit is halved from 10% to five per cent on all voyages expect full world cruises.
Deposits for the line’s 2010 world cruise are reduced from 20% to $1,000 or $1,500, depending on cabin selected.
Passengers can now cancel their cruise up to 45 days prior to sailing without penalty, instead of 75 days ahead.
When taking out an option on a cruise, prospective travellers now have an increased period from three to seven days before a deposit is required.
