MakeMyTrip adds PayPal option for hotel bookings

Sunday, 09 Mar, 2017 0
Leading Indian travel booking platform MakeMyTrip has expanded its merchant partnership with PayPal to offer PayPal integration for hotel stays and holiday packages.

MakeMyTrip customers can already use PayPal for airline ticket bookings.

The OTA will use the automated invoicing tool which sends an invoice to customers via email along with a link to complete payment through the PayPal interface.

"We are very excited to extend the domain of our existing partnership with PayPal. As a leading player in the online travel segment, we have seen the online hotel market explode thanks to increasing mobile penetration and adoption, especially for last-minute hotel bookings," said Mohit Gupta, COO of hotels and holidays at MakeMyTrip.

"We have made aggressive efforts to tap into this segment and are hopeful that the partnership with PayPal would help in addressing the element of safe and secure transactions, one of the biggest barriers in the consumer’s mind."

MakeMyTrip hosts 240,000 hotels globally on its platform plus about 34,000 hotels across India.
