Makeover planned for flagship LA hotel
Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel is to undergo a major $40 million top-to-bottom transformation.
Overseen by general manager Jonathan Litvack, the hotel will be completely refurbished, including work on all 495 guest rooms, meeting rooms and public areas.
Once the overhaul is complete, the hotel will become the centerpiece of The Bloc, a new shopping, office and lifestyle destination that will contain a Macy’s department store.
New York-based firm McCARTAN will be responsible for the hotel’s interior design throughout.
The hotel’s 26,000 square feet of meeting and event space will also receive a full makeover and supplemented by new amenities including an additional swimming pool, outdoor spa and cabanas.
New food and beverage outlets are also planned.
Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel is centrally located in the heart of the city’s financial and entertainment district, just a short stroll from the Staples Center.
