Making all the right moves
There have been several major appointments in the travel industry this month.
The Travel Corporation has appointed Anthony Hayes as global managing director, AAT Kings.
Hayes spent five years as CEO of Tourism Queensland, and has held a variety of senior positions with Qantas.
Hayes’ appointment to AAT Kings will be effective February 11.
The position encompasses responsibility for the suite of AAT Kings brands, including Inspiring Journeys, Aussie Adventure and Darwin Day Tours.
Tourism Fiji has appointed Rick Hamilton as CEO following an extensive global search.
He joins Tourism Fiji after five years as managing director of Flight Centre New Zealand.
In late 2012, Tourism Fiji revealed the design of its new brand identity, appointed new marketing and public relations partners, selected a global social media partner and created a new destination website.
Princess Cruises has appointed Meg Koffel as public relations manager for Australia and New Zealand.
She has joined Princess Cruises after more than four years at Intrepid Travel where, as spokesperson for the company, she became a regular travel commentator on the Seven Network’s Sunrise program.
