Malaysia restores KK’s hub status
Malaysia Airlines has this week re-introduced direct flights to
Tokyo’s Narita International Airport from Kota Kinabalu in Sabah.
The service will restore Kota Kinabalu as the Malaysian national carrier’s eastern hub.
Malaysia Airlines’ group chief executive Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said MAS had previously suspended various routes flying out of Kota Kinabalu to the Far-East.
"The suspension was part of our network consolidation involving single-aisle aircraft operations.
"As promised, we reviewed the decision and with market demand, have decided to reinstate this route," Yahya said.
