Maldives Tourism is key sponsor for ITB China 2023
Indian Ocean nation Maldives is the official island travel partner for this year’s ITB China.
Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation will have a dedicated stand at next month’s trade show.
Maldives Tourism will curate various activations, including a raffle.
MMPRC is sponsoring the ITB China Customized and Themed Networking Lunch.
It will also deliver a Presentation Hub Showcase on September 13, 2023, to highlight the destination to trade partners and media.
“The Chinese market is historically significance for Maldives’ tourism,” said Thoyyib Mohamed, CEO of MMPRC.
He said the resumption of direct flights from China in January had led to a dramatic upsurge in Chinese visitors.
ITB Chinais one of the top travel trade fairs for its outbound tourism sector.
“There couldn’t be a more opportune juncture for the Maldives to reconnect with the Chinese travel trade.”
Pre pandemic, China represented 16% of incoming Maldives tourism arrivals.
