Maldivian launching new China flights
Maldives flag carrier Maldivian will launch three new Chinese destinations in February.
For the airline’s next phase of expansion into the growing China market, it will start flights from Male to Changsha, Xi’an and Nanjing.
All routes will be operated by 152-seat, Airbus A320 jets.
The new routes add to Maldivian’s existing services to and from China to Chengdu and Wuhan.
Maldivian also flies internationally to Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai in India, and the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka.
China is a major focus market for the airline and now Chinese travelers make up about 30% of all inbound tourist visits to the Maldives.
