Mammoth Mountain ski season extended through July
California skiing haven Mammoth Mountain will stay open through at least July.
It could continue beyond July thanks to the huge amount of snowfall this winter.
They haven’t yet to confirmed a closing date for the season.
There has been unprecedented snowfall across the Golden State in recent weeks.
It represents good news for late season California ski and snowboarding.
Mammoth Mountain itself has received a total at 634″/ 16.1 meters.
It is predicted to surpass its season snowfall record (16.96 meters) in the next week.
As a result all winter operations will continue and could be extended further.
As California’s highest chairlift serviced peak, it is not uncommon for Mammoth Mountain to have extended spring seasons.
It is one of few resorts that can potentially operate into the summer months and does so most years.
However, this is the first time an extension of this length has been announced so early on in the winter season.
Winter operations continuing means the resort can offer months of cross-country and Nordic skiing, snowshoe trails, snowmobiling, snowcat tours, sledding and tubing.
