Man charged after bomb hoax on Virgin Australia flight
A man was taken in to custody after a bomb scare on a Virgin Australia flight caused panic and an emergency evacuation at Albury Airport.
A 30-year-old male passenger was charged with sending a document threatening death or grievous bodily harm and giving police false information.
He is accused of leaving a scrawled message on a sick bag in the aircraft toilet.
On landing authorities took no chances and passengers were told: "Leave your luggage. Get out and run, run, run!"
Some of the 42 passengers and crew were forced to jump out of the windows of the 68-seater turboprop on to the tarmac.
The plane had departed from Sydney.
After a search of the plane the threat was later declared a hoax.
