Man charged with murder after throwing son off tourist boat
A Russian tourist is in police custody in Thailand and has charged with the murder of his son.
In a bizarre and shocking incident, Artem Bugorskiy picked up his 13-year old son and threw him into the sea from a boat they were travelling in, according to witnesses.
Bugorskiy then jumped into the water and refused help from other tourists on the boat.
It happened near Koh Ra Island in Phang Nga.
Other people on the boat said the incident followed an argument between the boy and his father.
The biy was helped back into the boat by other tourists and boat crew but was pronounced dead.
He has severe facial injuries possibly caused by the boat propeller.
The boat was carrying 16 foreign tourists.
Bugorskiy has been charged with intentional homicide.
