Man to stand trial over death of British tourist in Cyprus
A 35-year-old man has been charged with the murder of British holidaymaker Robert ‘Charlie’ Birch in Cyprus last month.
A 23-year-old woman who was also arrested in connection with his death has been released without charge.
Mr Birch, aged 39, from Welshpool, Powys, died after being hit by a car at 2.30am on June 24.
The defendant faces charges of pre-mediated murder and the attempted murder of a second British man, aged 32, who needed hospital treatment after the incident.
The trial is expected to begin on August 3.
