Management shake-up, business restructure for Avis Budget
Avis Budget Group, Inc. has announced big changes at the top as it restructures the business, condensing its three regional territories into two.
It will realign its operations into two divisions – Americas and International, set to take effect on January 1, 2015.
At the same time a management reshuffle will take place.
Patric Siniscalchi, president, Latin America/Asia-Pacific, will retire at the end of the year after a 43-year career with the company.
Thomas Gartland, president, North America will also step down on December 31, and is expected to stay on in a consulting role to oversee the transition.
"We thank Tom Gartland for his extraordinary contributions to the growth, culture and profitability of our company. We also thank Pat Siniscalchi, who has played a critical role in the development and success of our business in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region," said Ronald L. Nelson, Avis Budget chairman and chief executive.
Larry De Shon, the current president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will take the newly created role of president, International with responsibility for Asia-Pacific operations from January 1, 2015.
Joseph Ferraro, Senior Vice President, North America Operations, will serve as president, Americas, overseeing operations in North and South America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
"Joe Ferraro brings proven leadership and a strong track record of strategic achievement and operational excellence. Joe’s extensive experience in our North America field operations and his outstanding work as the ‘right-hand man’ to Tom over the past several years make him the ideal person to assume Tom’s responsibilities," Nelson added.
