Overview

Our client, a global Broadcasting conglomerate, is looking for a manager to lead technical and operational aspects of channel launches throughout Asia. Broadcast Operations is defined as all program preparation and play-out responsibilities to include on air scheduling, standards and practices screening, formatting, editing, ingest, and network play-out for Global Networks division.

Position is based out of Singapore.

Essential Functions

Support the short-term channel rollout of the Global Networks expansion strategy by meeting immediate launch requirements.

Act as the operational lead for new channel launches, manage the operational timeline, and communicate risks and mitigations.

Hold internal meetings with operational and editorial staff to develop workflow and define metadata standards.

Act as the liaison with IT to ensure requirements are met for the editorial and operational teams, including applications, connectivity, and training.

Lead playout vendor meetings to develop workflow and define all services needed for each launch. Marry internal and external processes.

Support the editorial teams and ensure the channel “look” is supported by operations.

Create the test and shadow plans for all processes prior to launch date.

Manage internal requirements and vendor improvements for the ongoing channel operation.

Create and execute a standard operational process to launch new channels for Global Networks.

Assist in managing the ongoing relationship between the Global Networks editorial teams and Broadcast Operations.

Assist in resolving technical and operating issues during broadcast.

Overseas travel 30%-50%, mainly to Japan, SEA and India

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in supporting a critical on air environment, and managing channel launches.

Degree or background in technology/engineering and operational process

Strong process focus/mindset

Experience leading project teams, budgets, timelines, service providers, vendor relationships, and contracts.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, all with same level of urgency

Proven ability to work effectively with all levels in an organization

Strong project management skills

Self Starter…able to drive initiatives independently

Understanding of international distribution requirements a plus

GB/BB certification and Lean experience a plus
