Mandala no longer fuelled by debts
Indonesia’s Mandala Airlines is due to resume operations next week, more than a year after financial difficulties forced it to suspend operations.
New shareholders – Saratoga Group and Tiger Airways – plan for Mandala to fly to domestic and international destinations within a five-hour radius from Jakarta, using a fleet of new Airbus A320 aircraft.
The carrier will relaunch with 12-weekly Jakarta-Medan services on April 5, followed by twice-daily Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur flights on May 4. Tickets – with relaunch fare specials – are now on sale.
