Mandarin Oriental signs second Caribbean resort
Luxury hospitality group Mandarin Oriental is adding a second resort in the Caribbean.
Mandarin Oriental, Grand Cayman is slated to open in 2021 and becomes the group’s second location in the region after rebranding a boutique resort on Canouan Island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Located at Beach Bay, the resort will have 100 rooms along with branded MO residences.
It will feature five restaurants and bars, and its own producing farm for ‘farm to table’ dining.
Additional resort amenities include a spa, fitness center, multiple swimming pools, tennis courts and a beach club offering water sports.
"We are delighted to announce this exciting new project…a fitting extension to our growing global resort portfolio," said James Riley, group CEO of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
"The owner has assembled a spectacular site and has the long-term vision to create a unique resort experience."
The property is owned by Melkonian Capital Management and is being developed by New York-based RAL Development Services.
As the name suggests, Mandarin Oriental has Asian roots dating back to the 1950s and now operates 31 hotels and eight residences in 21 countries and territories globally.
