Marine heritage conference announced
Riding the wave of success – marine heritage & economic development
The conference will explore how maritime heritage and culture can inspire and be used to harness economic development in communities in coastal locations.
This will include communities large and small, rural and urban and at different stages of their economic development.
The theme is to be maritime heritage as a catalyst for economic development in the 21st century.
The speakers at the main conference will use case studies covering:
- waterfront and port development;
- the role of maritime museums;
- rural coastal communities and heritage based regeneration;
- city development and regeneration;
- the regeneration of the traditional resort;
- the transition from port to resort.
