Marriott names new Asia marketing chief
Marriott International has appointed Bart Buiring as new Asia Pacific chief sales and marketing officer.
Buiring took over earlier this month, replacing Peggy Fang Roe, who takes on a global role as head of customer experience, loyalty, and new ventures.
Buiring has been with the Maryland based hotel giant for 19 years and was chief operations services officer, Asia Pacific.
In the new Hong Kong based role he leads consumer strategy in brand management, marketing, revenue management, loyalty, and customer experience.
He is also tasked with localizing Marriott Bonvoy with Asia Pacific markets and driving distribution and pricing strategy across the region.
Additionally, two more key appointments were announced.
Rajeev Menon has been promoted to president, Asia Pacific (excluding Greater China); and Henry Lee becomes new president, Greater China.
