Marriott to debut Aloft brand in Mauritius
Marriott International will debut its urban design brand Aloft in the capital of Port Louis, Mauritius, in early 2019.
The world’s largest hospitality firm has signed a management agreement for a 150-room hotel which will be the brand’s first adaptive reuse project in Africa.
An existing nine-story office building in the city’s CBD will be developed featuring Aloft signature amenities including a WXYZ~® bar and Re:mixSM lounge, fitness centre and rooftop bar and pool.
All rooms will have harbour or mountain views.
"The signing of Aloft Mauritius Port Louis underscores the unstoppable momentum the brand has been garnering and our strategic commitment to grow the Aloft brand in key destinations around the world," said Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International.
"With its urban design aesthetic and appeal to savvy travellers, the Aloft brand is particularly suited for adaptive reuse."
Aloft Mauritius Port Louis joins Marriott’s St. Regis, Le Meridien and Westin brands already open in Mauritius and a Sheraton hotel currently under development.
