Marriott to debut Moxy brand in India
Marriott International has teamed up with established local partner Prestige Group to open another six hotels across India.
It will add nearly 1,000 rooms to the Marriott portfolio across India and will see the debut of the Moxy brand.
With the opening of Moxy Chennai and Moxy Bengaluru, Marriott will have 17 of its brands operating in India.
The other hotels signed are the W Bengaluru, Tribute Portfolio Resort Bengaluru, Tribute Portfolio Hotel Kochi Maradu, and JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa.
All are expected to open between 2021 and 2025.
"India continues to be a critical growth engine for us in APAC. This country delivers strong results right from revenue and service. Prestige Group and Marriott International has built a strong relationship over the years," said Rajeev Menon, Marriott’s president – Asia Pacific (excluding Greater China).
The 125-room Moxy Chennai and 200-room Moxy Bengaluru are both expected to open in 2024.
First to open is the 102-room Tribute Portfolio Resort Bengaluru in 2021, followed by Tribute Portfolio Hotel Kochi Maradu and JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa the following year.
Prestige Group helped Marriott launched its 100th hotel in India last year with the opening of the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center.
