Mauritius hails inclusion on UK ‘clear for travel’ list
Mauritius applauded the UK government’s decision to include Mauritius on the ‘Clear for travel’ list, ensuring that fully vaccinated UK travellers will continue to be free from quarantine restrictions on their return.
To date, over 80% of Mauritian adults are fully vaccinated.
From 1 October 2021, Mauritius will press ahead with opening quarantine-free travel for fully-jabbed foreign visitors.
It means they will be free to explore the island from the moment they land.
Mauritius has erecorded only 45 deaths from the virus, and says its Covid infection rate per capita remains among the lowest globally.
Nilen Vencadasmy, Chairman of Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, said: "We are looking forward to welcoming travellers from around the world back to Mauritius t. The success of our response is the result of a collective effort by the Government of Mauritius and residents of the island."
Airlines operating scheduled flights to Mauritius include British Airways, Air Mauritius, Air France, Emirates and Turkish Airlines.
