MBT Re-launches with new Real Vietnam tour options
Boutique Vietnam tour operator Monkey Bridge Tours today re-launched itself with a new image and range of tours that emphasise its specialised knowledge of one of the world’s fastest-growing and most affordable holiday destinations.
“Better transport, infrastructure and service standards have improved Vietnam’s tourism industry dramatically, but most visitors still end up in the same old places,” said MBT co-founder Carl Robinson, a Vietnam War Correspondent and travel author.
“With our new Real Vietnam program we are able to offer a broader range of tours that break away from the country’s more routine destinations and show off the Vietnam we know and love so deeply,” Mr Robinson said.
MBT’s 2006-2007 offering includes:
-
a new 24-day exploration of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, starting in the North with the beautiful and historic valley of Dien Bien Phu and its bustling port of Hai Phong followed by a drive south along “the other side of Vietnam” – the spectacular Laos-Cambodia border region – to Sai Gon, today’s Ho Chi Minh City.
-
A new 18-day Tet Celebration Tour that immerses travellers in local festivities and family rituals in the Mekong Delta to celebrate the Vietnamese Lunar New Year in February 2007.
-
A new 13-day New Year’s Eve Tour – a safe and excitingly new post-Xmas Asian holiday where travellers party in 2007 Ho Chi Minh City and then relax in off-the-beaten-track coastal city of Qui Nhon.
- three expanded 10-day Shopping Tours that take travellers off the tourist trail into a secret world of shopping, tailoring and beauty treatments.
Time-poor travellers are also catered for with 10 and 15-day Introduction to Vietnam Tours, while history buffs and those who love a good story can chose from a 14-day Introductory History Tour or 23-day Legends & History Tour that delve back into the nation’s rich and intriguing 4000 year heritage.
Australian-based, Monkey Bridge Tours is run by Carl Robinson and his Vietnamese-born wife, Kim-Dung (pronounced Kim-Yung), founders of Sydney’s famous Old Saigon restaurant, and journalist-documentary maker Walter Pearson, a two-tour Vietnam Veteran.
