M&C unwraps Studio M
SINGAPORE – Millennium & Copthorne has launched a new international hotel brand, Studio M.
The first Studio M will open in Singapore, within the Robertson Quay and Mohamed Sultan entertainment district, in the second quarter of 2010.
M&C, listed in London and the largest Singapore-controlled hotel group in Asia, has a portfolio of more than 120 hotels worldwide under several brands – the five-star Grand Millennium, the Millennium and Copthorne brands, and the budget Kingsgate, which is located mainly in New Zealand.
Kwek Leng Beng, chairman of M&C, said Studio M would represent a new facet to the hospitality landscape in Singapore, appealing to smart business and leisure travellers who wanted a distinctive hotel experience, “even as they demand functional services like wireless connectivity”.
“Studio M aims to fill this gapâ€.
“We plan to take this new brand global,†added Kwek.
M&C said it had received several enquiries to take the Studio M brand to the Middle East.
