Meeting planners prefer short cruises
Meeting planners looking at cruises prefer a time frame of three days, according to a recent survey by MiMegasite.com. One third thought that was the best time at sea.
A lesser number, 26%, said they preferred five day-cruises. Only 12% wanted a week-long jaunt.
But 26% of the respondents said they would never consider a cruise meeting at all.
Cruise lines are trying to accommodate meetings by offering more varied itineraries. Some cruises make few ports of call, enabling meeting planners to have more captive audiences presumably focusing on their meeting.
Research shows that for incentive trips with meeting elements, attendees prefer many ports of call.
