Meetings and music in Branson
In addition to drawing country music fans, Branson, Missouri is adding to its appeal as a meeting and convention center.
The area’s new convention center is planned to open in 2007, along with the $420 million Branson Landing project that includes shopping, dining and entertainment areas.
The 220,000-square-foot convention center will have 56,000 square feet of exhibition space.
Branson Landing will transform the Lake Taneycomo waterfront in downtown Brandon.
Meeting facilities now include the Great Hall at the Chateau on the Lake, which can accommodate groups of up to 4,000. Big Cedar Lodge is also a luxury resort that offers meeting rooms and executive retreat space.
Popular local tourist activities include the Silver Dollar theme park, which is an 1880s-themed Ozark Mountain Village that has local history, craft shops and theme park rides.
