Travelsavers “Agents are Forever” 2007 kicks off in Maui
On November 9, Travelsavers Canada met with their peers and suppliers at the first full day of the national ‘Agents are Forever’ 2007 conference at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa.
With a slice of paradise as the backdrop, attendees engaged in plenty of networking, information-sharing, and a good deal of fun, too, all in line with their ‘secret agent’ theme.”
Representatives from Travelsavers Canada discussed and demonstrated the company’s full line of proprietary products and services at the “For Your Eyes Only” agent briefing. Two new products were launched: the OnlineXpressPLUS website development program and the M.Y.O.B. (Market Your Own Business) marketing initiative.
Keynote speaker Donald Cooper then entertained and imparted nuggets of sales and marketing wisdom during his “The Customer Who Loves Me” speech, Following that, additional marketing tools and tips were shared during a lively panel discussion, which included: Barbra Newton (Director of Sales, Canada, Viking River Cruises), Kevin Kalbfleisch (General Manager, Signature Vacations), Shawn Martell (Sunquest Vacations), and Cindy Botelho (Manager of National Accounts, Princess Cruises and Cunard).
Marilyn Macallair (Vice President, Business Development, Passport Online) offered insights into using the Web to increase business revenues, in a talk called “If You Build It, Will They Come?” Immediately following was the “Mission Possible” technology panel, sponsored by TRX, including: Bryan Fernandez (Product Development Manager, Convergentware, formerly Travel Success Group), Tim Bzowey (Vice President, Sales, RBC Insurance), Holly Brosam (Head of Client Relations, TRX), and Jim Mazza (COO, TRAVELSAVERS).
In the evening a private luau was held courtesy of the Carnival Family and Sunquest Vacations. Agents, suppliers and TRAVELSAVERS staff gathered in an outdoor pavilion just off the beach, where they enjoyed indigenous food, music and entertainment. A troupe of eight dancers, including a Keiki dancer and fire knife dancers, and Tahitian drummers sent a wave of awe through the crowd.
