Melia signs four new Vietnam hotels
Melia Hotels International has unveiled plans for four hotels in Vietnam including debuts in Ho Chi Minh City and UNESCO-rated Halong Bay.
That will bring the number of hotels in Vietnam open or in development to 10.
Melia Saigon Central will open its doors in March after a rebrand from the existing Amena Residence and Suites.
It features 159 rooms and is sited close to major tourist attractions including the Saigon Opera House, Reunification Palace, and the Basilica.
Amenities include restaurants, a swimming pool, MICE facilities and executive lounge.
INNSIDE Saigon Central and INNSIDE Saigon Mariamman are also coming to HCMC and are also rebrands of existing hotels.
The INNSIDE Saigon Central will open in 2018 with 72 rooms after being reflagged from the Amena Suite Hotel Ton That Dam, while just 150 metres away, INNSIDE Saigon Mariamman will open in 2020 with 115 rooms on the site of the current Lavender Boutique Hotel.
Melia also announced the upcoming INNSIDE Halong slated to open in 2019 and will offer 251 rooms, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, spa and meetings facilities.
"Vietnam is quickly emerging as a top travel and business destination and is a big part of our strategic focus for Asia Pacific," said Bernardo Cabot Estarellas, senior vice president for Asia Pacific.
"In addition to our properties in Hanoi, Danang and Phu Quoc, we are thrilled to be bringing the Melia and INNSIDE brands to Ho Chi Minh City and Halong Bay, and growing our offering to our customers in the region."
