Mexico braced for Hurricane Bud
A hurricane is expected to hit Mexico later today, bringing hazardous seas and weather conditions to the state of Baja California Sur and the west coast of the country.
The states of Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit and Sinaloa could be affected, said the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Although Hurricane Bud has weakened, it is still likely to bring heavy rainfall of up to eight inches, which could cause mudslides and wash out roads. It will also cause rough seas and high winds might bring down power lines, knocking out supplies in some areas.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur throughout Friday and into the weekend.
Bud is the East Pacific’s second major hurricane of the season.
