Millington Travel buys York agency
Leicester-based Millington Travel has bought Quartz Travel in York.
Quartz was founded by the previous owner Paul Smith in 2004.
Smith will continue to run the business under Millington Travel’s ownership.
With the addition of the four staff at Quartz, the Millington team will grow to 66 people across 11 branches across Leicestershire and in York.
Millington Travel’s co-owner Nigel Armitage said: "We are delighted with our latest acquisition of Quartz Travel. Quartz is a robust business with a strong brand and a solid customer base.
"It has a great reputation locally in York and there are clear synergies between the two brands of Millington and Quartz. It’s a great fit."
He said the agency would consider further acquisitions to further develop its network.
Smith added: "Joining the Millington team is great for us at Quartz Travel. We share a very similar working culture and the team here is delighted to have strong ownership for the future."
Millington Travel was established in 1972 and is owned by Armitage and Nick Bland.
