Mini-bar reforms?
Wyndham International Inc. announced it had greatly lowered what it called “notoriously exorbitant” hotel mini-bar charges.
“Prices for mini-bars have reached unprecedented levels, to the point where people don’t even consider buying anything from them anymore,” said Andrew Jordan, Wyndham’s chief marketing officer and executive vice president, sales and marketing.
Hotel-goers have felt they were “nickeled and dimed” by mini bars, he said.
Prices across the board have been slashed, he said. Soft drink costs have been lowered to $1.50, while candy bars are $1.25.
