Minor International signs partnership to roll out wellness centres at hotels
Thailand based hotel group Minor International has tapped wellness and beauty firm VLCC Group for the launch of a new wellness concept at its hotels and resorts.
The exclusive partnership will see VLCC Group invest about $25 million to develop and manage therapeutic wellness and beauty centres at Minor operated hotels.
It will start with the new 196-room Avani+ Hua Hin Resort in Thailand which is expected to open in the first quarter of the next financial year.
"We have been thinking about getting into wellness tourism because it has a huge potential. This seems like a right opportunity," Mukesh Luthra, chairman, VLCC Group told India’s Mint news website.
Plans are in place to roll out the centres at 50 locations over the next two years.
India based VLCC manages more than 300 wellness centres in 13 countries.
The wellness centres will offer a range of treatments including spa and beauty, detox therapy, and skin and hair treatments.
Minor international has a presence in more than 50 countries across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and South America.
