Minor launches its new brand in Sri Lanka
Minor Hotel Group is launching a new upscale hotel brand – Avani Hotels & Resorts – which will debut in Sri Lanka before expanding across Asia, the Middle East, Australia and Africa.
The name Avani stems from Sanskrit and means ‘earth’.
The finishing touches are currently being made to the first Avani property, Avani Bentota, some 60km south of the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo. It is set to open by the end of the year.
Avani will launch a second Sri Lankan resort in 2012.
Minor Hotel Group is an owner, operator and investor with a portfolio of 37 hotels and 36 serviced suites under the Anantara, Marriott, Four Seasons, St. Regis, Elewana, Oaks and Minor International brands.
