Monarch appoints new sales director

Monarch Travel Group has appointed industry outsider Gary Anslow as sales director with responsibility for Cosmos, somewhere2stay, Avro and Avalon Waterways.

Anslow, who will report to managing director, tour operations Hugh Morgan, previously held a number of senior sales roles at drinks giant Diago. He has also worked for PepsiCo UK and Scottish Courage Brands.

His appointment, which takes effect on January 5, follows a restructuring of the Monarch Group.

“Gary is joining us at an exciting time for our group," said Morgan. "He has excellent skills which we feel will prove invaluable as we move forward our travel trade distribution strategy.”

Anslow added: “I’m delighted to be joining such a well established brand in the travel industry.  I’m coming from a very different sector but excited to have the opportunity to add real value in such constantly changing and challenging times.”
