More Aussies in St Anton that Italians………amazing facts
This amazing fact was revealed to The Mole by members of the ANTO team at actb’07 and is a real indication of the success of Austria’s marketing in the Aus and NZ market place.
Another interesting fact was that Aussies and Kiwis tend to merge with the Brits in terms of being recognised so operators do not notice them so much, so Aussies and Kiwis – stitch a flag to your ski suits or walking backpack and be seen!!
Austrian suppliers though know that Aussies and Kiwis are good business and have been very supportive and determined to get their share of what is seen to be very profitable business with Aussies and Kiwis staying longer and spending more than our UK and US counterparts – especially on food and drinks it seems – can’t imagine that’s true!
Another amazing fact is that more Australians and New Zealanders visit Salzburg than visitors from several Central European countries in total – yes in total!

With Australia now the third largest market for Austria outside Europe right after the USA and Japan, the time is right to visit Austria and get us even higher up the scale! Go, Aussies…and Kiwis…..go!
Astrid Mullholland-Licht, Director of ANTO in Sydney said, “These are all little known, but amazing facts about the strength and demand for Austria from the Aus and NZ market places”.
She added, “My message to my colleagues and friends in the trade is, don’t make the mistake of missing out on Austria – it is the true heart of Europe.”
