More bed bug cases reported on Pacific Explorer
A P&O Cruises Australia ship continues to receive complaints regarding a bed bug infestation.
A New Zealand couple were the latest to complain to the cruise line, citing ‘sleepless nights’ due to bed bug bites.
Jamie Kirk and her partner filed a complaint last week but the line maintains it has found no evidence of bed bugs on the P&O Pacific Explorer cruise ship.
It follows recent complaints in the past few weeks.
Three separate suspected bed bug incidents were reported on cruises between August and October and all involved the same stateroom.
Still, the cruise line has maintained there is no evidence of bed bugs despite thorough checks.
“I had to pay additional fees for laundry and medication,” Kirk said of the latest incident.
On a previous cruise, Linda Nelson and her sister were both ‘badly bitten by bed bugs. P&O are denying there is a problem.’
A cruise line spokesperson said: “It is a mystery for us too. We have undertaken a comprehensive programme and a thorough investigation but we cannot find any evidence based on this issue.”
