More dangerous to be in an auto
Travelers might be reassured to know the chances of being a victim of terrorism are very, very slight, according to The Washington Post. The newspaper, quoting the Statistical Assessment Service, cited these death probabilities for US citizens: • In an automobile accident: 1 in 18,800. • In a lightning strike: 1 in 4.2 million. • In a commercial airliner: 1 in 8.4 million. • And in a terrorist attack: 1 in 9.2 million.
