More Intrepid Food Adventures on the menu
Intrepid Travel will add new culinary hotspots to the Food Adventures range of trips in 2014
Intrepid’s Food Adventures focus on street fare, local specialties, home cooking, markets and urban food culture.
"The Food Adventures have been one of the most successful new product launches in our history," said James Thornton, Intrepid’s managing director
New 5-14-day Food Adventure destinations include Morocco, Italy, Peru, Argentina, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Cambodia and Japan.
Three new ‘Bite-size Break’ style trips in Beijing, Shanghai and Delhi will focus on shorter, centralised itineraries of two to four days in length.
New Food Adventure highlights include camel burgers in Morocco, truffles in Italy, BBQs with Argentinean gauchos, puffer fish in Japan and learning to cook with one of the world’s finest spices, Kampot Black Pepper, in Cambodia.
To mark the new Food Adventures, Peruvian chef Alejandro Saravia, of Sydney’s Morena, will be giving Sydneysiders a taste of the Peru Real Food Adventure with ‘Peru on the Road’, his food truck, at Sydney’s Wynyard Park on Monday October 14 and Tuesday October 15 from lunch through to dinner.
Visitors to the food truck will also have the opportunity to win a spot on a Food Adventure in Peru departing next year.
First departures for Intrepid Travel’s food trips will take place in March 2014.
