More killed in latest attack on Kenya villages
At least five people have been killed in a new attack on a village close to the Kenya coast, said the BBC.
It said an armed gang raided the village of Witu last night, leaving several dead and several more injured.
The village in Lamu County is about nine miles from the town of Mpeketoni where more than 60 people were massacred last week.
No group has claimed of responsibility for the latest attack, which is in an area not frequented by tourists.
Somali Islamist group al-Shabab said it carried out last week’s attacks in Mpeketoni, near Lamu. Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta, however, blamed local political groups.
Lamu County Commissioner Stephen Ikua confirmed on Tuesday there had been a new "unfortunate attack" overnight.
