Mother dies from heart attack after theme park ride
A mother collapsed and died after going on a white-knuckle theme park ride in Drayton Manor Theme Park.
Carla Knight, 42, suffered a heart attack after riding on Maelstrom – a giant pendulum swing that spins 70ft in the air, reports the Daily Mail.
Despite efforts to resuscitate her, Mrs Knight, from Leicestershire, died at the scene.
The £1million ride was closed for several hours after the tragedy at the park in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
Colin Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor Park, said his thoughts were with Mrs Knight’s family and friends.
Drayton Manor Theme Park attracts more than one million visitors a year and boasts Europe’s only stand-up roller coaster.
