Movenpick takes over Philippine island resort
Hospitality group Movenpick has signed a deal to take over a beach resort on the Philippine holiday island hotspot of Boracay.
The company will manage the 333-key Punta Bunga Beach Resort in the island’s northwest and will reflag it as the Movenpick Resort Boracay.
It will reopen in December, the company said.
“Signing a property in Boracay is a significant development for Movenpick, as it cements our presence in one of Asia’s most established resort destinations,” said Andreas Mattm-¼ller, chief operating officer for Middle East and Asia.
Key features at the resort include dedicated family rooms, a kids’ club, several restaurants including Italian, Japanese and Korean, a beach club and meetings space.
