MSG Sphere lights up the Las Vegas skyline
Las Vegas’ newest attraction has been turning heads.
MSG Sphere lit up with a captivating display of dazzling animated content on the venue’s exterior ‘The Exosphere’ for the 4 July celebrations.
The unique venue is set to reimagine visual entertainment on a never-before-seen scale starting this fall.
The signature feature of The Sphere is its 580,000 square foot fully-programmable LED exterior, the largest LED screen on earth.
The Exosphere consists of approximately 1.2 million LED pucks, spaced eight inches apart.
Each contains 48 individual LED diodes, with each diode capable of displaying 256 million different colors.
It creates a vivid new landmark on the Las Vegas skyline.
The venue will host original experiences from Hollywood directors; concerts and residencies from the world’s biggest artists.
The Sphere is expected to open in September 2023.
David Hopkinson, President of MSG Sports, said “Sphere’s Exosphere is a 360-degree canvas for brand storytelling that will be seen around the world.”
“There’s nothing comparable to the impact from displaying innovative brands and immersive content on the world’s largest video screen.”
The Sphere kicks off with ‘U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at The Sphere’ in September which sees The Exosphere prominently featured throughout the performances.
The Venue will continue to host live entertainment as well as display creative activations in coordination with many of the major events taking place in Las Vegas.
The first Sphere Experience will be directed by Darren Aronofsky in October called ‘Postcard from Earth‘.
In November, during the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Sphere will have a prime position along the circuit.
