MyTravel shares rise on trading statement
MyTravel bucked the trend on a difficult session for travel and tourism shares.
London’s two main equity indices moved in different directions yesterday; the FTSE dropped 6.3 points to end the day at 4894.4, while the FTSE 250 moved sharply in the other direction, adding 46.9 points to close at 7130.5.
Shares in MyTravel gained 0.375p to close at 5.75p – a rise of around six per cent on the day – following an upbeat trading statement in which it said it was “making very good progress at improving revenues and cutting costs”.
