Saturday, 18 Jan, 2017 0
To mark the 36th ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2017 being hosted in Singapore this week, Devinder Ohri, President of the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS) has assumed the Presidency of the ASEAN Tourism Association.

Ohri takes over from Aileen C. Clemente of the Philippines who assumed the position in 2015.

"In this our Golden Jubilee year ASEANTA has joined the many other stakeholders in celebrating the whole year as VisitASEAN@50. This poignantly commemorates the coming of age of ASEAN being promoted as a single destination, which was the vision that our founding fathers had in mind with great foresight half a century ago" Ohri said.

ATF 2017 has embraced the theme: ‘Shaping our Tourism Journey Together’ to mark the region-wide collaboration effectively as a single destination.

The week of events in Singapore include the TRAVEX B2B exchange and the ASEAN Tourism Conference.

To mark the 50th year, several initiatives will take place in 2017 including the ASEANTA Tourism Honourees project and ASEANTA Excellence Awards 2017 which are being held on ASEAN Day, August 8, 2017.
