NativeEnergy Travel Offsets to Sponsor Travelmole VISION on Climate Change
NativeEnergy Travel Offsets, the travel arm of the Native American-owned Carbon Offset and Wind Farm organisation has agreed to sponsor Travelmole’s “VISION on Climate Change”. The first edition of which will be distributed to all Travelmole’s global sustainable tourism subscribers and will include reports and interviews from UNWTO Climate Change forums in Davos and the WTM’s Responsible Tourism Day.
“We think our relationship with VISION makes real sense” said Richard Edwards of NativeEnergy Travel Offsets. “Just as we’ve worked with pioneering environmentally responsible companies in other industries like Ben & Jerry’s and Clif Bar for years, as well as exclusively providing carbon offsets for Al Gore’s film on global warming “An Inconvenient Truth”, we’re now really reaching out to the travel industry as potential leaders in the fight against warming. We’re proud to already be aligned with companies like Lindblad Expeditions, Backroads and O.A.R.S., and being part of a more climate-friendly travel show at the Luxury Travel Expo 07 in December.”
Tom Boucher, president of NativeEnergy comments, “Our company’s all-consuming passion is to get more wind turbines and other renewable energy systems built, and we designed a unique business model that enables our customers to do just that.” Boucher and NativeEnergy co-founder Tom Stoddard immediately saw the potential of partnering with Megan Epler Wood and Richard Edwards to serve the travel industry.
“We have already developed a brand image that delivers concrete environmental and sustainable economic development results,” comments Tom Stoddard. “Companies like Aveda, Stonyfield Farm, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, and performing artists including Dave Matthews Band and Barenaked Ladies, have all joined NativeEnergy in the fight against global warming because they know they make a real difference working with us. We are looking forward to the opportunity of delivering carbon offsets to the travel industry.” Stoddard adds.
