Nature Air: all -you-can-fly deal
Nature Air is citing its eco-nature and Costa Rica’s notoriously bad roads in advising travelers to take advantage of its week-long offer of US$222 to take any of its airline flights. It serves airports all across Costa Rica as well as neighboring Nicaragua and Panama.
“In a country where primitive roads wind through mountains and are choked by jungles, being able to fly rather than drive can add hours of enjoyment to a Costa Rican vacation. And with Nature Air, greenies can enjoy that convenience guilt-free. Founded with the environment in mind, the company is the world’s first carbon neutral airline,” says a news release.
The company offsets 100 percent of its carbon emissions through a program with local land owners, the company says. By paying to preserve threatened tropical forests, Nature Air offsets 6,000 tons of carbon dioxide each year.
The carrier says in addition to the primitive roads, Costa Rica highways also often have a lack of signage; many drivers are very aggressive.
“Despite constant repairs, the hot sun, hard rain and pounding from cars and heavy cargo trailers have made even paved roads here into mine fields of pot holes and other obstacles,” the airline says.
“Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, our flights are far from your average mile-high experience. The views from the over-sized Vistaliner windows on our Twin Otters are not to be missed. They'll have you seeing things differently at 10,000 feet up in the sky,” the company says.
The airlines offer views of active volcano’s and the heart of the jungle, the airline says. Large, flat, untinted windows offer great views, according to the company.
Based in San Jose, Nature Air offers 74 daily flights to 17 vacation spots in that country. Costa Rica.
In addition, the carrier offers charter flights, canopy tours, car rental, an airport shuttle service, air cargo service, vacation packages and travel deals.
The motto of the carrier: “Not just an airline, a Travel Company with wings.”
