Norwegian Cruise Line has entered the next level of social media interaction with customers with the launch of a travel channel on YouTube.
YouTube Vacationer promotes the cruise line’s freestyle cruising product and offers an array of videos that suit the type of cruise the user is interested in.
When viewed, the video clips also show an appropriate sailing, price and book now button. This will lead the user to the company’s booking engine and a suggestion to call “your travel professional”.
Customers who have sailed with NCL are encouraged to upload their own video footage in the Vacation You section, and then share them with Facebook and Twitter contacts.
Cruise agents could boost sales by uploading their own footage and sending it to clients following fam trips.
Cruise advice is also given, from travel experts at Lonely Planet, the Travel Channel and National Geographic.
