New activity holidays website looks to work with agents
A website dedicated to selling independently-run activity holidays is looking to work more closely with the travel trade.
Vidados.com, which launched earlier this year, now features more than 840 activity holidays in over 30 countries and is growing daily.
Its aim is to bring together what it claims is a ‘highly fragmented’ market and allow ‘micro entrepreneurs’ to sell their holidays globally and to take instant online bookings.
CEO Vanessa Lenssen said these small, often family-run operators are given access to technology and payment facilities which they would otherwise be unable to get.
"Our research showed that 20% of the sellers on the Vidados website don’t even have a website," she said.
"Of the 80% that do, less than 20% have any kind of online booking and even then they can’t always do instant confirmation online."
The site is now looking to work with agent affiliates, who will be given a unique code to direct their customers to the site or book directly and earn 5% commission.
"We provide monthly traffic and booking reports for agents and pay commission monthly too," said Lennsen.
Activity holidays on the site include surfing, horse riding, photography, walking and cooking.
Any agents interested in becoming an affiliate should email [email protected].
