New airline Moxy plans 2020 launch
New airline startup Moxy is impatient to start flying and won’t wait for delivery of its new Airbus A220-300s on order.
Those planes start arriving in 2021 but founder David Neeleman is apparently tapping his other airline for a fleet of Embraer E195 jets.
Neeleman’s Brazilian business Azul is replacing Embraer E195s and Moxy could start operating with these as early as next year.
It also plans to lease some Airbus A320s, according to the LA Times.
It plans to take on the big boys with a low cost service but without the infuriating nickel and diming.
It says it plans to focus on under-served airports and routes.
Serial aviation founder Neeleman also established JetBlue and Canada’s WestJet.
